The Abby is startling in its beauty...
Vocals sound breathy and natural; brass has bite;
woodwind instruments present a sense of the reed,
so much so that the hair on your arms will stand up
as soon as the music escapes."

"Our loudspeaker partner for San Francisco [HE 2003] was Terry Cain of Cain & Cain whose Fostex-based single-driver creations caused such a stir at the recent CES show in Las Vegas. Terry introduced a brand-new design."

"Terry Cain has done an impressive job with the sonics... these speakers are great for jazz lovers...
and the woodwork, as expected, is second to none."

Audio Asylum member TAFKA Steve: "Award for Best Groove-iosity and Microdynamics: Venus Hi-Fi Room with Cain & Cain Abby's. These things image like a sumbitch!"

David Adams artist--- David writes:

Our listening room is about 14' x 27' and is curved on 2 sides with one open to the rest of the house. We also have mostly hard surfaces with furniture and a couple of area rugs.

The double horns are awesome. They have strong, fast, articulate bass, and relatively aggressive clear mid and highs. They throw a huge soundstage that literally leaps away from the speakers out into the room. These speakers sound true and very, very resolute. All instruments are well defined and presented with good scale and excellent timbre and tone. Image is enormous.

The small TQWT is a new entry level unit and it is remarkable as well. It just sounds way better than it has a right to. Again, it is fast articulate and detailed without being overly analytical.

They both have excellent timbre and do indeed deliver the sound of woods as well as everything else just where and when it should be. This speaker sounds very similar to the double horn with slightly smaller imaging, but very fast, clean response.
