The Plinth
The Plinth Is now in production. For vintage rim drive Turntables Nearly a year in development, a remarkable solution exists. Fitted to Garrard model 301/401, with new models coming for the Thoresn TD-124. Rigid isolation of motor via decoupled arm structure. A light and rigid noise reducing design without resorting to compliant damping. Carefully chosen and handled hard eastern maple, solid brass and walnut combine for an functionality and elegance respectful of the original designs. CNC machined for precision, assembled and finished as a labor of analogue love. The main plinth is a massive block of laminated maple. Not “butchered”, it is a refined and expertly crated mass of dimensionally stable maple. Locked in end-grain ensures stability and flatness over time. The 3 point supports offer unique adjustability for VTA and leveling. All precision machined in solid brass and walnut on the finest CNC machines. Overall size is 21 “ square, 8” high. Weight is a generous 35lbs. Fully adjustable. One or two arm boards available, fully machined to your arms needs and specification.
